My Dearest and most loved Pran,
You must have millions of e-mails coming through and I thank you so much for a lovely e-mail.
To my surprise!! I never thought that I’d ever receive one from any actor or high profile entertainer and that they are far too busy.
But alas! Thank the good Lord I receive one from you!
Many thanks for the autobiography information on your book, I will seek to purchase it very soon!
If you don’t mind me saying so but I will address you as “Uncle Ji” your movies were so inspiring and so touching. Especially in Zanzeer! Yaari heh iman
You’re an authentic man Uncle Ji, thank you so much for my first e-mail from such a loving character as yourself!
Please enjoy your retirement, My love to you always and to your family and happy Diwali to you all!

Dear Pran sahab
If this has been written from your email address it has made up my day.. I
wish you many more birthdays..
I also wish that you provide our young actors some tips on acting.. you were
definitely the best among the best in your times..
That your particular role in Shaheed of manoj Kumar was something
extraordinary.. the one moment which brought tears to my eyes was when you
ask Bhagat Singh to shake hands with him..
The other most appealing performace came in the Upkar song Kasme vaade pyaar
vafa sab..
Yet another out of this world performance was the Zanjeer song .. yaari hai
imaan mera yaar meri zindagi.. I do sing and how great it would be if I
could someday sing it for you and for others .. including brother Amitabh..
I write on his blog regularly.. I shall find some time to be able to do
that..
kya mai kabhi aap se aakar mil sakata hoon.. agar aap ko bura na lage.. aap
ek mahaan kalakaar ho aur mere dil mein aap ke liye vishesh jagha hai..
aapke har kirdaar mein koi na koi nayapan hamesha hi dekhane ko mil jaata
thaa.. yah apane aap mei koi chhoti baat nahi hai..
Aapka ek chahane vala

Comments: Dear Pran,
Namaste from Europe. I'm an Asian girl who speaks Hindi fluently. I was born
in Fiji Islands and have always loved watching your movies whenever I could
as a child.
When my family moved to Hawaii, U.S.A., I was dishearted that I wouldn't be
able to watch any Hindi films there on a daily bases. I
watch my Hindi film collection that I have brought with me from Hawaii at
least once a year.
My favorite of your's is Amar Akbar Anthony, Don (1978) & Naseeb.
This is the only way I keep up in practicing my Hindi.
I wish you all the best & good health. It's great that you have your own
website and allow us to share part of your personal life here.

Respected Pran sahaab, Namaskaar! May I introduce myself as Sucheta Joshee from Pune.
I am a scientist working on medicinal and edible mushrooms. I still cannot believe I am actually writing a letter to you. While surfing on the net in between my research, I saw your website and thought of sharing a secret with you.
A day before my XIIth std. Board exams, I saw one of the unforgettable movies "Half Ticket" without telling my mother. It was not a surprise that I kept remembering the scenes between Kishor Kumar and his Chacha.. You! while writing my exam paper. I goofed up in Maths and though I passed with a first class, I did not get a medical seat. SO finally, I ended being a Botanist, a lover of plants and a specialist in mushrooms.
Sir, had I not laughed at Maths, (because of you and Kishorda), I would have been forced to become a doctor without my heart involved in it.
Today I cannot imagine myself without field trips to various forest patches, endless working in labs, raising plants and mushrooms.
Thanx to Half Ticket... I have seen it twenty four times!
My husband Pradeep and my eight year old son Salil know the movie and its songs by heart.
Sincere regards,
Sucheta. |
